Recipe – Ooni Decadent Burrata Pizza

Ingredients

One 330g dough ball for a 16-inch pizza or a 250g dough ball for a 12-inch pizza
Flour, for dusting
5 tbsp pizza sauce
2 to 3 slices prosciutto
150g burrata
Handful small basil leaves
2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

Step 1 – Prepare your pizza dough and pizza sauce (check the Ooni or BBQs Plus websites for recipes). Once your dough and sauce are ready, fire up your oven. Aim for approximately 950 ˚F (500 ˚C) on the stone baking board inside.

Step 2 – Take the burrata out of the fridge so that it warms up to room temperature. The burrata isn’t cooked in the oven on top of the pizza but added to the pizza once it’s cooked, so it shouldn’t be super cold.

Step 3 – On a lightly floured surface, stretch the pizza dough ball out to either 12 or 16 inches and lie it out on your floured pizza peel. Using a large spoon or ladle, spread the sauce evenly across the pizza dough base.

Step 4 – Slide the pizza off the peel and into your Ooni and cook for about 1 to 2 minutes, turning every 20 seconds to ensure even cooking.

Step 5 – Once ready, remove the pizza from the oven. Lay the prosciutto on top, then the burrata, and finish off with the basil and a generous drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil.

Step 6 – Slice, serve and enjoy!
